Mom Tribe

I am sitting in a coffee shop waiting for a new mom friend

Sipping on my tea while listening to a cheery music beat

A moment to breathe, a moment to rest, a moment of gratitude

I’m sharing a meal with a new mom friend in a coffee shop

Pouring out moms’ joys and hardship of our lives' soundtracks

A moment to connect, a moment to laugh, a season of hope

Life is swirling the fast track outside of our cozy coffee shop

Jerry, my stronger half, summarizes the mourning news for me

A season to pray, a season to grow, a season to preserve

My new mom friend is moving to a new church

It hurts a lot, but we plan to stay in touch

A season of faith, a season of grit, a season to persevere
