Don’t Just Pray, Do Something

Why should we help those not our own?

Why should we care when others weep?

Why visit those who sigh alone?

The Lord wants us to feed His sheep.

Why should we offer clothes and meals

to those whose penury cuts deep?

Why strive to know how each one feels?

The Lord wants us to feed His sheep.

When disappointments plague a friend,

when days drag on and shadows creep,

why should we seek to help him mend?

The Lord wants us to feed His sheep.

Though caring words come from the heart,

our faith should help us make the leap.

Those fervent prayers are just a start.

The Lord wants us to feed His sheep.
